Rehab and Nursing Center

Each year in October, we contact the Edward J. Healey Rehab/Nursing Center to inform them of our intent to host residents at our Annual Thanksgiving Dinner in November. They respond to the church with an estimate of the number of residents and staff who will be attending.

The Coordinator initiates contacts with the congregation to:

• Identify members who will assist with menu planning, food preparation, serving, and donation of food items or funds to purchase the food.
• Volunteers to entertain and engage our guests before and after the meal is served.
• Each resident received a Christmas (e.g. toiletries, socks, mini stuffed animals, and quilts made by the Church’s Quilting group, etc.).

The program has expanded to include elderly members of the congregation as dinner guests. Donations are also used to purchase gifts for members of the congregation who resides other Rehab/Nursing Centers.
